What company makes the best laptops: ASUS or Lenovo? This post will analyse both manufactures and analyse their main features
In this post we will analyse ASUS and Lenovo to determine who makes the best laptops in different market segments. We will analyze hardware, design, gaming models and different segments for prospective laptop buyers.
ASUS or Lenovo: Overview
ASUS is from Taiwan and is currently the 4th largest PC vendor in the world (2015 data). Lenovo is from China and currently sells its electronics in roughly 160 countries. Prospective laptop buyers have probably heard of these 2 giants, as they have a good piece of the PC market pie.
Apart from being Asian companies, they also have other similarities. They both use a number of hardware components from the same manufacturers, for example Intel processors. They are also competitors in other markets, especially on the mobile phone industry. Finally, they were founded in the 80’s, with just a few years’ difference.
However, they also have some significant differences, and below we will approach them.
ASUS or Lenovo: Laptop Design
In my opinion, Lenovo uses more conservative patterns than ASUS. Both of them build sturdy laptops, with different quality depending on the price range.
Perhaps the fact that ASUS has currently a bigger range of models allows them to experiment more in design terms. Lenovo, on the other hand, has mostly black, silver and white laptops. There are just a few exceptions to this.
ASUS or Lenovo: Laptop Series
As mentioned above, ASUS has a big variety of models than Lenovo. That is a critical advantage if want to buy a laptop fora specific purpose (for example gaming).
Even if Lenovo has a smaller range of options, they models are pretty versatile. You are likely to find a model that is ideal for your purposes within the smaller range of models by Lenovo.
ASUS or Lenovo: Gaming Laptops
I think its on gaming laptops that there are the biggest different between Lenovo and ASUS. While Lenovo has a good number of gaming laptop options, ASUS has a whole sub-brand dedicated to gaming.
The ASUS Rog (Republic of Gamers) series has some of the most powerful gaming laptop available. Lenovo has some great quad core gaming models too, but the variety provided by ASUS is far greater.
Some of the highest-end ASUS Rog laptops have no comparable models in the Lenovo model range.
