If you are looking for a powerful laptop with a thin bezel, this ASUS VivoBook S410UA-BV133T can be quite useful. Let’s analyze the main hardware aspects of this laptop available in the UK market in 2018.
ASUS VivoBook: What is new?
The ASUS VivoBook is a best selling laptop series not only in the UK but also around the world. Featuring compact models with a mid to high-end hardware components, the VivoBook series has a lot of prospective buyers, also due to its pretty attractive prices.
The UK laptop market is much smaller than the North American, both in terms of sales and versions available to the public. However ASUS is one of the most competitive brands in the British market, bringing the latest technology to the British Isles. That is the case of the ASUS VivoBook S410UA-BV133T, and here is why.
The main highlight of this VivoBook version is certainly its all new Kaby Lake R processor, bringing a higher benchmark and energy efficiency. Apart from that, it also has great features, so let’s analyze them individually below.

ASUS S410UA-BV133T VivoBook: Design and Display
The exterior design of this ASUS book is pretty conservative, however its compact dimensions are definitely one of the positive points regarding this laptop.  Being 17.9 mm thin and with a weight of 1.4 kilos, this laptop is ideal if you need to carry your device constantly.
Its display also deserves some attention, much more for its thin bezel than for its size. The thin bezel definitely adds to the device’s portability. Its HD resolution is good for most activities, but it would be nicer if this VivoBook had a Full HD display.
ASUS S410UA-BV133T VivoBook: Hardware
What good me most excited to review the ASUS S410UA-BV133T is certainly its new CPU. The Core i7-8250U is part of the eighth generaton of Intel processors.
The eighth generation is the first one to use more than one micro-architecture in the same generation. The micro-architecture if the i7-8250U processor is called Kaby Lake R. The i7-8250U is a quad core processor with hyper-threading, a base frequency of 1.60 GHz. You can click here to know more about Kaby Lake R chips.
Another highlight in this laptop is its 256 GB solid state drive. It allows this ASUS VivoBook to boot extremely fast, and also launch your Windows 10 apps smoothly and quickly.
Finally, its 8 GB RAM are also good for its price range. The DDR4 technology certainly helps this laptop to be quite fast.
ASUS S410UA-BV133T VivoBook: Connectivity
In most compact and thin laptops, connectivity is usually below satisfactory (in my opinion). In other words, most of them lack enough USB ports. However, this ASUS VivoBook excels in terms of connectivity, with 4 USB ports (1 x USB 3.1, 1 x USB 3.0 and 2 x USB 2.0).
Other than its good USB ports setup, you can find the common connectivity aspects as in similarly priced laptops, including WiFi.
Pros
- Ultra thin bezel
- Metal body
- Modern Kaby Lake R processor
- 256 GB SSD
Cons
- Resolution and graphics capability could be higher
Verdict
This version of the Vivobook is certainly a great option if you are looking for an all-round laptop with great portability. However, some limitations like low graphic processing capabilities and HD resolution make it not ideal for gaming purposes. All in all, if portability is your priority, and you work with your laptop often unplugged, this VivoBook is certainly a good call.
