The i7-7500U performs well in most scenarios, but I would recommend laptops featuring this Kaby Lake processor for two types of users.
The first type are users focused on high performance on extremely thin laptops. Some thin, lightweight laptops using the i7-7500U are ideal if you need at the same time high portability and performance. That is mostly the case for multi-tasking on Windows 10, or using specific software that require good processing power. Since the i7-7500U has a relatively low energy consumption, even in these powerful devices, the battery autonomy should be rather long.
The second type of user that should consider these laptops are casual gamers looking for a powerful, yet affordable device. The i7-7500U is also found in versatile 15 and 17 inch laptops, often with an affordable price. If you need more processing speed than the average user, but you don’t want to spend a lot in top end quad core, i7-7500U laptops are a good option.
i7-7500U and DDR4 RAM
There are also some other important aspects to consider when buying a Kaby Lake powered laptop. I would recommend buying models using the DDR4 RAM technology, which is considerably faster than the DDR3. The combination of a powerful Kaby Lake processor and plenty of DDR4 will guarantee an optimal performance in Windows 10.
A dedicated video card is a must if you a casual gamer buying a Kaby Lake laptop. I would recommend the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950M or superior video cards.
