The product featured on this review is the CHUWI LapBook, a versatile, low energy consumption 15.6 inch budget laptop.

CHUWI is certainly set to grow on the laptop market, as the LapBook has a sturdy chassis, and runs Windows 10 smoothly. In its price category, there are very few devices capable to compete with the CHUWI LapBook.

The battery capacity of this laptop is of 10000 mAh, which according to the manufacturer allows the device to run unplugged for 7-8 hours.

CHUWI LapBook: Design

The design is definitely one of the highlights of this beautiful laptop. It has an elegant white chassis, with a very well-finished appearance, especially on its edges and its hinge.

The LapBook design is not only pleasant to the eye, but it is also very compact. It is 9-22 mm thin, and has a weight of just 1.8 kilos, which makes it easy to carry, even if 15.6 inch laptops are not the smallest ones.

The ports are easy to access showing a very high level of product engineering by the manufacturer.

The Intel Cherry Trail Z8300

The Intel Cherry Trail Z8300 is a ultra low voltage quad core processor and powers a number of mid-range tablets. It powers the CHUWI LapBook, as well as other energy efficient devices previously reviewed here, as the Teclast Tbook 16 Pro 2 and the Jumper EZpad 5SE.

It has a base frequency of 1.4 GHz and a maximum burst of 1.8 GHz. Even if it’s not the most powerful processor, its performance on Windows 10 is pretty acceptable, as the CHUWI LapBook comes with 4GB DDR3L RAM.

Storage and Connectivity

Even if this laptop is a rather entry level model, it has a quite good connectivity and storage setup.

It has 2 USB ports, being one 2.0 and one 3.0. The USB 3.0 is ideal if you transfer bigger files using a USB stick for example, as the 3.0 technology is by far faster than the 2.0. It also has a slot TF card and another for micro HDMI, apart from the AC and headphone jack (3.5 mm). This should be more than enough if you have a normal usage of peripherals.

Its storage capacity if of 64 GB eMMC ROM. If that is not enough for your needs, you can easily complement it with a device on the USB port, or an SD card.

Display

The display specs for this laptop are just incredible. For an inexpensive laptop, the fact that it offers Full HD resolution is just amazing.

You will be able to enjoy movies and streaming services in full detail on its 15.6 inch, which for this price is an excellent deal.

Verdict

I would recommend this laptop especially for those willing to buy an affordable device to run on Windows 10. If you run heavy software, make sure that the system requirements match this laptop hardware. For this price, it will be hard to find any device with Full HD resolution.
