Huawei is releasing the all new Huawei Honor 5X in global markets this January, 2016.
Let’s review this model and see how it behaves compared with the LG G4 Stylus, which has a similar price.
The Huawei Honor 5X will definitely shake the smartphone markets in 2016 bringing a high quality smartphone both in terms of hardware and software at an accessible price. The Huawei Honor 5X is in the price category o under 250 dollars in the US, which is a great value for a very versatile mobile phone. The LG G4 stylus is also in the same price range, and was released in May 2015, let’s see how they perform when compared with each other.
Huawei Honor 5X release date and specs
The Huawei Honor 5X is one of the first big smartphone releases from 2016, and it has it’s release date set to january 2016.
This cell phone has one of the coolest designs I’ve seen lately on the mobile market, with a 5.5 inch, full HD IPS screen with a metallic body inspired by Guggenheim Museum in Spain. It comes with 16GB for storage but thanks to its microSD slot it can jump to up to 128GB. It supports both nano and microSIM.
One of the coolest features of this phone is its ultra fast fingerprint sensor, that registers your fingerprint in just 6 seconds, and allow you not only to unlock your phone using it, but a number of different features like taking photos or take and receive calls.
Huawei Honor 5X Processor
This phones comes with an Qualcomm 64 bit octa core processor with a clock speed of 1.5Ghz, which is great if you like to run multiple apps or play games on your phone.
Huawei Honor 5X Camera
The Huawei Honor 5X comes with a 13Mp camera that has a lot of interesting and intuitive options, allowing you to record slow motion motions, or time lapses.
Comparing the Huawei 5X with the LG G4 Stylus
It might be a bit of an unfair comparison, since the LG G4 Stylus has been released in the second quarter of 2015, but since they have similar prices, I thought it could be a good reference.
In terms of processing speed, the Huawei model has a slight advantage, both have Qualcomm processor but the clock speed of the Huawei model is slightly faster (1.5Ghz vs 1.2Ghz).
The LG model has a slightly bigger screen with 5.7 versus 5.5, but while the Huawei has a 1080p resoultion, the LG lags behind with just 720p. Both smartphones have a 13MP camera. Design wise, I prefer the Huawei metallic model much better over the LG model, but that is perhaps something personal.
The LG model does not have a fingerprint sensor, and it has less camera modes, but on the other hand it comes with a pen that can be useful on its touchscreen for some users.
