Lenovo IdeaPad 120S-11IAP Review: Design and Display
The design is certainly one of the highlights of this new Lenovo IdeaPad. This version of the IdeaPad 120S is extremely compact in its dimensions, and also very lightweight. Apart from that, its design is also pretty elegant. Its touchpad has a good size and its keyboard has a good ergonomy and responds well.
Its 11.6 inch screen has an excellent image quality and is perfect for those willing to have a smaller laptop. Its antiglare screen has HD resolution, and is perfect for watching your favorites videos and series.
For those who don’t mind a bit more weight and want a larger screen, there is a version for you. The Lenovo IdeaPad 120S-14IAP is a bit bigger in its dimensions, has a larger screen (14 inch) and is also more powerful in its specs.
Lenovo IdeaPad 120S-11IAP Review: CPU
This version of the IdeaPad 120 comes with an Intel Celeron N3350 processor. This dual core chip has 2 threads and a base frequency of 1.10 GHz. While it is not a powerful laptop, it runs Windows 10 S pretty decently. It also manages multi-tasking such as web browsing and text editing with a good performance.
This processor has an integrated GPU (Intel® HD Graphics 500). While this hardware setup is certainly not ideal for complex tasks, it has a decent benchmark considering its specifications.
Lenovo IdeaPad 120S-11IAP Review: Storage and RAM
This IdeaPad has good RAM capacity, considering its price. However, its storage is probably its weakest point. Its 4 GB LPDDR4 use a pretty modern technology and contribute to the good performance of this Lenovo while multi-tasking.
Its storage however is pretty limited. While the eMMC storage is pretty fast, its 32 GB of storage capacity can be a problem. However, you can circumvent its storage limitations relying on the cloud, buying a flash drive
Lenovo IdeaPad 120S-11IAP Review: Connectivity
In terms of connectivity, the IdeaPad 120S is quite good, even above the averager for similarly priced laptops. It offers two USB 3.0 ports, and one USB Type-C which is a great advantage. Other than that it has a connectivity comparable to other similarly priced laptops.
Pros
- Thin, compact laptop
- 4 GB LPDDR4 RAM
- Good battery life
Cons
- Low storage capacity
Lenovo IdeaPad 120S-11IAP Verdict
The Lenovo IdeaPad 120S in this specific version is a very good laptop if you need a device for basic tasks. Considering its compact dimensions, it is also a good option if you need a device wherever you are. However, its hardware is not very strong, and depending on the software you work with, its performance can be disappointing. However, if you just need a device for browsing, editing texts and sheets and watching video streams, this is a great option.
