Lenovo has recently launched a new series of laptops with compact dimensions and powerful processors. The Lenovo Ideapad 510 (model number 80SV0058US) is one of this recently released devices and will be analyzed in this review.

Lenovo Ideapad 510: Overview

The Lenovo IdeaPad 510 is a mid to high-end laptop released by the brand in 2016. Among its highlights, it comes with an all new Intel i7 processor, a beautiful silver and black design and plenty of DDR4 RAM.

The i7-7500U processor that powers this laptop will certainly satisfy your performance needs. It is a dual core chip released in 2016 and part of the Kaby Lake generation of Intel chips. It has a pretty elevated benchmark when compared with the i7-6500U, from the previous generation of Intel processors.

The Lenovo Ideapad 510 on its model number 80SV0058US also comes with a dedicated video card, which is great if you like gaming. The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 940MX is a mid level dedicated video card. It will allow the user to play most games released in 2016 with decent graphics and FPS.

You may also consider the model number 80SV005AUS which has 8 GB RAM DDR4. It is a bit less RAM bit it still performs extremely well, as the DDR4 technology is pretty fast.

There is another important hardware difference between the 80SV0058US and the 80SV005AUS. While the model number 80SV005AUS has a 1 TB hard drive disk, the 80SV005AUS comes with a 256 GB solid state drive. Solid state drives are much faster than HDDs, but the HDD in the model number 80SV005AUS offers a much greater storage capacity.
