In today’s review we will analyze the Lenovo Ideapad 710s (golden), one of the latest releases by this brand for the UK market in 2016
Lenovo is one of my favorite brands, and the Lenovo Ideapad 710s is one of their best products released in 2016. Let’s find out what is special about this laptop and why it is one of the best choice on its category in the UK.
Lenovo Ideapad 710s (Golden): Overview
The Lenovo Ideapad 710s is a high-end laptop focused on low engine consumption and portability. It brings a differences when compared to the Lenovo Ideapad 700, with an advantage especially in terms of design.
The champagne gold design of this laptop certainly stands out on its category. It is not only extremely beautiful and elegant, but it has also a very low weight.
The version analyzed here is the 13.3 inch one (80SW008UUK), which comes with a Full HD resolution. That is pretty much the standard for lightweight laptops with high processing speed and you definitely should consider the resolution when buying your laptop.
The competition is pretty tough for the Lenovo 710s. I would consider the Dell XPS series and the Asus ZenBook as its most direct rivals.
Lenovo Ideapad 710s (Golden): Pros
One highlight of this laptop is its processor. The Lenovo Ideapad 710s 80SW008UUK has an i7-6560U, which is one of the latest processors made available by Intel. The 710s is one of the first laptops from Lenovo equipped with this chip.
The i7-6560U is a dual core processor, with 4 threads and a base frequency of 2.2 GHz. Like most dual cores from the Skylake generation of processors, it has a very low energy consumption, resulting in longer battery life for your laptop.
There are there other versions of the 710s with different processors, and I would recommend more those with the i7-6560U and the i5-6260U. However, the i7-6560U has a considerably higher benchmark than the i5-6260U.
This laptop also comes with JBL speakers, which is another great advantage present in many Lenovo laptops.
Lenovo Ideapad 710s (Golden): Cons
Within its category, the Lenovo Ideapad is definitely one of the best contenders. However, both the RAM memory and the SSD could have more capacity. While you will have a great user experience with 8 GB, you may expand it 16 GB depending on your needs.
The SSD on this specific version has a capacity of 256 GB. You may want to buy an external SSD or an USB flash drive, especially if you keep big files like movies stored on your laptop
