You have probably heard about mini PCs and how effective they can be in terms of portability and practicality while mostly having more attractive prices than bigger and heavier desktops or laptops. The Eggsnow Aluminium PC is however an interesting device that not only has a good performance and a small size, but is also very silent thanks to the use of its fanless hardware technology.
How do Fanless PCs Work?
If you own a laptop or a desktop, you know how crucial is to keep the temperature of your CPU down and how important is the role of fans on this task. So, as much as I am, you are probably amazed to know that some mini PCs are completely fanless, and somehow, they keep their CPU temperatures at acceptable levels in order not to fry themselves.
Fanless mini PCs use normally use a technology which involves heat sinks. The CPU is placed next to one of this heat sinks, which are parts made of extremely heat conductive materials, and the heat in then channeled through the heat sink, to the exterior, allowing most of the heat to be dissipated into the ambient.
