So the difference in production standards between Vizio and other brands cannot be steep, considering the actual manufacturing scenario.
Should I buy a FHD or a 4k Vizio TV
FHD (Full HD) TVs have a max resolution of 1080p while UHD (Ultra HD or 4k) have the double of its resolution. While most of the content you will have access to will be displayed in FHD, this is rapidly changing, so if you buy a 4k Tv, you will in fact see every day more content in the 4k resolution. However, if you are looking for a budget solution, there are not extremely significant differences at this point, that would make choosing a 4k TV the definite choice for a new TV.

Fast forward to 2019, the VIZIO Z series are also in the same low price range, offering a lot of features for the money (best ‘bang for the buck’). Given that my older entertainment center, which I didn’t want to part with, wouldn’t fit a 43″ TCL Roku (which was also budget priced), the VIZIO V 405-G9 was the perfect fit.
Totally free, no login viewing with Pluto TV, perfect for the latest cable cutters. Being these have HDCP 2.3 built in, can use a Roku 4k or any similar device on it’s generous (for the size) 3 HDMI ports (one with ARC support).
My only issue was getting my older VIZIO SB2920-C6 soundbar which was used with an older VIZIO 32″ 1080p smart TV to work, was ‘plug & play with that TV. With the VIZIO V series, have to go into the volume control & change the setting from auto to PCM. Once I did, the sound came roaring from the bar, makes me wonder how many gave up on it, thinking may be dead (many ‘refurbs’ were sold at higher prices than new).
